Thanks to all the Construction Management and Architecture Students for the big turn out for the World Trade Center job site, I have copies of all the photos from our visit. In addition, due to popular demand I will talk to Jones Lang LaSalle about another possible site visit. However, we are still in talks with the MTA about the 2nd Avenue site visit. Lastly, before I go, just a reminder to all students please forward me a copy of your resumes for possible job employment as well as a copy on hand for our resume book to cmaa@pratt.edu. Jones Lang LaSalle Site Visit

Jones Lang LaSalle Site Visit
Just a reminder to those of those who may not of heard by e-mail or word of mouth. We will be visiting Jones Lang Salle Job Site this Friday, October 26 at 2pm at 7 WTC Port Authority, but for safety purposes I need all the permission slips handed into me before you step foot on the site. I'll try to bring a few extras with me on Friday, but I can’t make any promises. Also, I will have a group meeting me at 12:30pm at Pratt's cannon on the Brooklyn campus, if you don't know how to get to the site. In addition, for all of you who wish to meet me at the site that okay please let me know via e-mail at by Friday morning at 10 am or call me on my cell so I know. Thanks again, and I look forward to seeing all of you this Friday.

Welcome Back CMAA Pratt Chapter

Hello Fellow CM Students

This year we plan to have the best year ever, we will be keeping with the same approach of better of club national and locally at Pratt Institute. Last years ASC Competition went so well we decide to not only do the commercial project, but to also take part in the design-build competition. All of you who are interested get your resumes in so we put the team together. Remember November is coming around the corner. In addition, we will have the honor of visiting multiple construction sites this year in different phases thanks to the NYC Transit, Jones Lang Salle Architects, and Conticorp. On our list are the World Trade Center, Bam, and Fulton Transit Courtland to name a few. We will have information as soon as next week on when and where this will take place. Lastly, we decide this year since the overwhelm interest of what the CMAA is that we will outreach to other majors at Pratt to join and share who we are such as Architect, Interior Design, and Industrial Design majors because we all have some similar parts that makes a construction project complete.

Coming back?

HELLO ALL!!

MAN, I haven't touched this site for a long time. For that, I sincerely apologize to all devoted readers that visited this site (which probably only 2 people). The reason for my absence: I’ve been busy running multi-million dollar project, managing 456 people, delegating 24 different agencies, working 20 hours a day and being paid large (7 figures) salary it. …………………NAH just kidding! I just didn’t know what to write that might be interesting so I left it back at March. Which brings me to say that I’m retiring from writing this blog and handing this over to the lovely Belinda Dietel (for those who know her) to discuss various spectacular topics and wondrous insights of construction. Enjoy!

Sustainable issue

I know I posted this up earlier, but here it is again:

If you like the film clip of 'Architecture 2030 presentation', there is another related portion to it and it is called the '2010 imperative'. (http://www.2010imperative.org) Pratt posted it up online and all over school about this. I personally didn't get the chance to watch it since there were some technical difficulty over the webcast, so it sucked! But I'm guessing that the large portion of presentation is similar to the one that Ed Mazria Pienary presented in the 'Architecture 2030 presentation'; That we have a 10 year window to fix this global warming issue. It is not a definite time frame but the egg heads at some enviornmental institute had to give an estimate so as arbitrarily as it sounds, 10 was the number they popped up with.

Since we're going with this number 10, I was thinking if it would be possible for us, as a species, to solve the global warming issue in time? Before coastal portion of New York will be under water, as well as other parts of the world. Before another huge hurricane destroy another city.
