Hello everyone
yesterday after class, I decided to take a look at a jobsite that a friend of mine was working on. He is a project manager and he has been working on this 3 story brownstone style residential building around park slope. The interior of the whole place was ripped apart and in the process of putting new stuff in it. The place was really a mess! and I don't mean a mess like tools and materials just lying around everywhere....no, i dont mean that. I mean the construction process itself. my friend was giving me the tour and told me how the current floor (which is all wood) will be ripped apart and replace with concrete. When he said that, immediately, I looked at the at the new stud framing on the wall..... thought for a moment....looked at the wooden floor......thought for a moment.... realized that that going to be problem. (concrete goes first then the new studs) He realized that too a few moments after I did...sigh a bit.... and called the foreman to found out who did it and who was going to get fired for it...(dum dum dum). I always hope that I won't have to encounter this kind of problem in my future career...but i'm just kidding myself really....:P

Well, the story about the 'studs going up before the concrete flooring' wasn't a problem at all. Apparently, the architect who designed it didn't tell everyone else that the wood floor stays. At least no one is getting fired.
To some, they might find this story boring and/or a little apathetic to the given circumstance but I find it a little interesting. What I find interesting was the fact that mis-communication from other parties working on this project may have been construed as either voluntary or involuntary mis-communication. Through what I am told about the people working on this job is that they are all trying to convertly screw each, monetarily. I do not know if this is true or not, but if it is, i'm really surprised that things are getting done at all. If it is true, I find it really amazed on how people can think they are smart enough to pull it off to make a buck. If they do pull it off... congrats to them! But there is a high percent chance that most would not and those are the ones will have their asses handed to them at one point or another.
